Me, Myself and Maya

Since last week, I had spent most of the time knowing new computer application for 3D modeling. I heard about it for a quite a while. From many movie directors, computer animators, movie producers, school instructors, friends, they all mentioned about this software about how powerful, great flexibility and wide-range of compatibility it is. Some of you might know about it. Yes.. it's Maya, an awesome well-known 3D modeling and animation software from Alias .
Fortunately, in the begining of 2004, Alias decided to produce a Mac OS X version of Maya after they had been producing only for Windows version for almost 10 years. The version that I have is Maya 6.0 which is a latest major release. For some of you who have no idea about what I'm talking about, try think about the famous movies like Lord of The Rings, Ice Age, Spider-Man to name just a few. Those are all using Maya to accomplish numerous unbelievable scenes that almost impossible to do in physical world. Not only the movies that using Maya but also video games and TV commercials as well.
That's why I turned myself to learn how it works. With an online tutorial, it's pretty easy to get to know all the basic knowledge and even to create some basic models with all by using several simple tools and features. In short, it's easier than I thought. I couldn't stop myself learning it because in every step of the lessons it keep introducing me all of new features that make a complex task real easy. Until now I have my favorite tool already. It's called "Sculpt Surfaces Tool". The concept of this tool is to let users making a model as s/he a sculptor. You can push, pull or smooth the surface as same as you do it with clay. Very.. very amazing !! Just a description might now enough. I have some sample pictures of my work using that tool. Please focus on a punk rocker head.. that what I made from Sculpt Surfaces Tool.
